antisuppression training

UFO Dynamic

In this section you will learn everything about how Dicopt antisuppression training works for your amblyopia patients who you detect suppresses vision in one eye.

For these cases, the mode Dicopt antisuppression used to work:

Mainly:

  • antisuppression
  • Improve the VA of the lazy eye
  • Fusion

Secondarily:

  • Ocular motility (tracking and saccades)
  • Central and peripheral stereopsis

Recall that deletion detection can be performed with the Worth Lights Test, a test used to evaluate the fusion of the visual system.

  • If the patient sees 4 lights: He has a normal planar fusion.
  • If the patient sees 3 lights: DO Suppression. He only uses his RO.
  • If the patient sees 2 lights: LE suppression. You only see the image provided by your OD.

Therefore, if you receive an amblyopia patient who is still suppressing, Dicopt antisuppression training is a perfect alternative to improve AV and lift the suppression through fun games in virtual reality.

Dicopt's anti-suppression mode allows for variable penalty of the dominant eye. This penalty is based on increasing or reducing the contrast of the image offered to the dominant eye.

En the dominant eye only the fondo, not the main elements. With this we can work monocular abilities in binocular field, penalizing the dominant eye to equalize visual acuities and eliminate lazy eye suppression.

The background, which is common to both eyes, we use to merge both images, are the elements in common between both.

To understand the configuration, we will follow the following example:

The dominant eye (DO) will be the one in which we reduce the contrast and the lazy eye (LO) in which all the information necessary to play will appear to the patient. If the patient suppresses the lazy eye, he will not see the fairground ducklings and will not advance in level.

For this type of game the first thing we will do is choose dominant eye penalty in settings:

We will choose which eye we want to work with (lazy eye) and then the visibility of the dominant one.

If we set 0%, it will be a black image that the dominant eye (in this case, the right) sees, thus working only monocularly.

If we put 100% visibility we will work in monocular in binocular field since, as we have said, in this modality "Games with contrast" only the eye that we indicate as lazy eye will be presented with the image with the most important information to play (the pointer and the ducklings) and to the other only the background.

By default, this mode is hidden from your patients. If you want one of your patients to use antisuppression training, click the button below to give us their information and we will activate it for them.
